About US

Based in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada, was launched in May 2011 as the internet facing portion of True North Brew Supply, our brick-and-mortar homebrew supply shop.

It all began in 2006, when owner's Calvin and Carole Quaite purchased Conner's Wine Cellar, a small regional beer and wine making U-Brew/U-Vin.  They quickly expanded the inventory of beer and wine making equipment and supplies, and by the end of the year they had quite a modest selection, but it was still enough to be considered the biggest homebrew supply shop in the city of ~85,000 residents.  The selection slowly grew, and as Calvin's personal passion for all-grain brewing took hold, our inventory expanded accordingly.  First with grains and hops, then liquid yeasts, brewing adjuncts, labware, mashtuns and wort chillers.  As Calvin's beers began winning medals in local, regional, and provincial competitions, local homebrewer's began to wonder what made this relative newcomer's brews so outstanding.  With local brewing knowledge and interest piqued, we began carrying more heavy-duty hardware; kegging, CO2 and kettle fittings, larger fermenters, a much wider variety of specialty grains, brewing spices, hard to source hops, and an array of cleaning and sanitizing agents.

By 2011, the little homebrew shop inside Conner's Wine Cellar wasn't so little anymore, so Calvin and Carole decided to separate the two businesses, leaving Conner's Wine Cellar as the Brew-on-Premise facility, and launching True North Brew Supply as the homebrew supply shop - which by this point was already boasting one of the largest selections of grains, hops, and yeasts in the entire province.

Within a year, True North Brew Supply was taking orders from across Canada, throughout the USA, Australia, and Europe.  With over 1,200 unique items in stock, the little on-line system we had originally implemented to showcase our products (and had soon after hacked into an online ordering system), was at it's limits.  A new website was desperately required, and with that transition in 2013, came a great opportunity to fully utilize the and hostnames and business entities we had registered back in May of 2011.

We're still sourcing new products every week, and are exploring every avenue available to grow our business.
